Pack Rat has played a huge role in the Fayetteville community for years. The store prides itself on giving back and finding a common ground between the retail side of the store and the natural aspect of the world around it.
Pack Rat is unique not only in its attempts to make a conservative effort around Fayetteville, but it is also unique in appearance. The store is made entirely of recycled wood from trees that were burned in a forest fire, proving that Pack Rat makes a real effort to maintain its reputation of being environmentally friendly.

The outside of the store is not the only thing impressive about the store. The interior of Pack Rat in incredible; not only is the layout clean and user friendly with multiple interactive stations to observe equipment, but the architectural detail inside is incredible and full of detail.

The store holds events periodically (weekly) to attract customers to the store to ensure that all their clients are well prepared and informed for any outdoor adventure thrown their way.
On Monday I talked to Hannah Spencer, she is the event coordinator at Pack Rat and we discussed a few ways Pack Rat gives back to the community by building relations with local schools and nonprofits, seeking to help when needed. As I listened to Spencer talk I could tell how much she loved her job because Pack Rat is a genuine company looking to stay involved as well as give back in any way it can. She emphasized that Pack Rat holds most events without seeking a profit. (Below you will find my interview with Hannah Spencer.)

This week Pack Rat hosted Pint Night on Wednesday, as well as a Survival Clinic on Sunday (which I attended). These events are open to the public and are free of charge, except for a few, but the coast associated with those events are fees for the gear to be used or sold as a part of the event. To get involved all you have to do is sign up before the event reaches capacity. You can find a complete list of all events on their website.

Pack Rat's mission and methodology for business not only benefits the community but also provides a one stop shop for the local outdoors men. This company's philosophy appeal to my buying needs as a consumer knowing I can go somewhere and the employees are genuinely interested in helping me find products I need as well as making sure I am prepared for the adventure ahead.
